With the end of June 2021 rapidly approaching, another year of NPDES Phase II MS4 work draws to a close. In summary, communities should have the following items completed by the end of June:
Year 3, July 2020 through June 2021 (current year)
- Screen all municipally-owned outfalls for flow and illicit discharge indicators during dry weather conditions
- Pass regulatory mechanisms covering stormwater discharges from sites disturbing 1+ acres during and after construction

America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) was signed into law in October 2018. This amendment to the Safe Drinking Water Act requires that community water systems serving more than 3,300 people must develop or update Risk and Resiliency Assessments and Emergency Response Plans.
Asset Management Planning Grant Program

The Clean Water Trust will provide up to $2 million in grant funds to qualifying applicants for the preparation of Asset Management Plans (AMP) for existing water infrastructure that includes either drinking water, wastewater and/or stormwater systems in an award of the lesser of $150,000 or 60% of the eligible project cost.
