Asset Management Planning Grant Program

June 27th, 2019

The Clean Water Trust will provide up to $2 million in grant funds to qualifying applicants for the preparation of Asset Management Plans (AMP) for existing water infrastructure that includes either drinking water, wastewater and/or stormwater systems in an award of the lesser of $150,000 or 60% of the eligible project cost. CEI is prequalified to develop AMPs as shown here.

We are reaching out to see if you would be interested in working with us to submit an application to the program. Applications are typically due in late August. Since this program can be used for drinking water, and since the new Risk and Resiliency Assessments (RRAs) for drinking water systems over 3,300 persons are also due soon, we are proposing to prepare an application that would cover the logical portions of both. Due dates for RRA/ERPs are shown below.

Since a large component of the RRA is to perform an asset inventory to identify and assess critical assets, using an AMP to help develop the plan makes sense. Note that there has been no funding for RRAs identified as yet, but they are mandatory.

Costs are dependent on the scope, the size of your systems and the number of assets that need to be addressed along with the level of prior work done on asset management and resiliency planning. CEI is happy to sit down with you and use our cost tool to tailor your program specifically to your needs. If you would like to discuss next steps or get more information about the AMP program, please contact Michael Ohl ([email protected]) or David Roman ([email protected]) with questions.
